The 31st of January Confindustria hosted the first stage of the road show that BusinessEurope is carrying out ahead of the European elections next May. Together BusinessEurope and Confindustria presented the paper - A Europe with opportunities for all - A business ambition for 2030.

Four are the goals that need to be pursued to strengthen European competitiveness and allow companies to play their part in society:

  • Develop a coherent and effective industrial policy
  • Invest in innovation, digital, training and sustainability
  • Adopt common tools to respond to internal and external challenges
  • Prioritize cohesion and social, economic and territorial integration.

President of BusinessEurope Pierre Gattaz and President of Confindustria Vincenzo Boccia spoke at the press conference.

European companies are convinced that the EU must be reinforced and stand the ground vis-à-vis political and economic giants such as the United States and China.

To do so, the EU needs to invest in digital technologies, innovation, skills and circular economy. There is also the need to continue working to achieve an economically cohesive and socially inclusive European Union, a Europe of opportunities for all its citizens.

"Unity is key because no Member State on its own is able to face the global challenges that concern Europeans. As entrepreneurs, we want to contribute to build a Europe that becomes a winning model for creating jobs and doing business
