ACTIVITIES

Gimav provides a host of information (both general and sector-related) to its Members. The main topics are normally:

  • EU Directive on late payment - Financial law
  • provisions for Regions/Local authorities and industrial policy
  • administrative accountability of juridical persons
  • reform of corporate laws
  • counterfeiting and Made in Italy
  • database of counterfeiting, anti-dumping and unfair competition claims
  • CE 1383 regulation: involvement of custom authorities in the protection of intellectual property
  • after-sales warranties for consumer goods
  • mapping of the implementation of European directives in the newly acceded EU member states
  • narket performance: ISTAT periodical import and export statistics
  • regional promotional programs
  • report on foreign trade development - Relationships with the confederal system

Activity

  • promotion of domestic production in Italy and overseas
  • organization of group stands in international shows
  • contacts with the processing industry
  • preparation of schedules of fees for assistance and servicing
  • definition of warranty conditions for the supply of machines
  • european safety standards on glass-processing machinery
  • european standards on technical requirements and performance of glass products
  • raising awareness and promoting the study of glass applications in buildings in universities
  • regular updates on the special arrangements, rates and agreements offered by Confindustria and/or Consortia to member companies

International activities

  • Cooperation with I.C.E. (Italian Foreign Trade Institute)
    • development of initiatives (such as fairs, conferences, and workshops) designed to promote Italian products on international markets (EEC, China, Eastern Europe, Middle and Far East).
  • Relations with CEN
    • participation in technical commissions and management of secretariats and working groups for the development of safety standards for glass-processing machinery;
    • participation in technical commissions for the drafting of standards on glass product requirements for the building industry;
  • Relations with International Associations
    • Organization of meetings with International Trade Associations on topics of general interest for the industry
