The ceremony, divided into the categories “Flat Glass Technologies”, “Robots & Automation”, “Software, Virtual Reality & Artificial Intelligence” and “Accessories, Components & Other Glass Technologies” took place on Wednesday morning in Milan. In the afternoon, the work of the GIMAV Assembly on the future of VITRUM.
Milan, 22 January 2024 – On Wednesday 17 January the Best Tech Awards ceremony, the recognition established by VITRUM to reward the companies that exhibited the most effective technologies in the 2023 editionicaci and innovative, in the opinion of visitors.
He welcomed the audience present online and in the theater Managing Director and Vice President of GIMAV Nicola Lattuada supported by CEO Fabrizio Cattaneo, immediately leaving the floor for the introductory greetings to President VITRUM and GIMAV Dino Zandonella Necca who, connected remotely because he was unable to attend the works, commented: "I am very proud of this initiative, because it highlights the technological edge that distinguishes VITRUM and confirms it as a privileged place to showcase the excellence of glass processing machines and accessories at an international level. In recent years there has been a lot of discussion about trade fairs; but technologies are constantly evolvingstarand in step with innovation and changing times, for this reason, we believe that putting them on display fisicamind is essential so that visitors can "touch them with their hands".
The ceremony then continued with the awarding of the Best Tech Awards.
For the category "Accessories, Components & Other Glass Technologies" the recognition was presented by Nicola Lattuada to the CEO of Tecnovati Com Leonardo Ghizzani"We are professionally proud that the value of a product like the Tecno Sunblock has been recognized and Tecnovati's commitment to introducing innovative and green products onto the market that look to the future by improving comfort with significant energy savings" – declared Ghizzani illustrating the technology presented for the first time in Europe at VITRUM 2023 – “Tecno Sunblock is a thermochromic glass that blocks the heat of the sun's rays, changing its state from transparent to opaline as the temperature increases, without the need for manual or electrical interventions. We carefully studied the product and its characteristics to have the necessary guarantees of quality and reliability before entering into an exclusive European distribution agreement."
“We would like to express our sincere gratitude for the prestigious Best Tech Award” - he has declared Jonas Pfannenstill, International Sales Manager of Softsolution, withdrawing the recognition for the Software, Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence category. “The cutting-edge technology presented at VITRUM 2023 features innovative software features that redefine the standards for all relevant quality aspects of glass products. This recognition confirms our commitment to technological progress and underlines our leading position in the sector. Our customers especially appreciate the scanner's AI functionality, which continuously adapts the categorization method based on user feedback. For the Robots & Automation category, the Best Tech Award was assigned by the Managing Director Barbara Mazza herself to Nicola Lattuada partner of Adelio Lattuada Ltd."We have been present in VITRUM since the first edition, and we continue to believe in it" – said Lattuada – “For us too, innovation, technology and research are fundamental and we believe that VITRUM is the best place to show our solutions to customers from all over the world. At VITRUM 2023 together with our partner Knittel Glass, we exhibited a robotic line: a variable angle grinder with 13 grinding wheels and a KUKA robot, with the particularity that the robot is not fixed to the ground, but moves at very high speed on a track dedicato which allows it to reach a maximum speed of 2,35 m/s. The advantages of this solution are multiple: greater flexibility and productivity, reduction in labor costs as it requires only one operator, greater safety and greater energy savings".
Followed by the presentation of the Best Tech Awards for the Flat Glass Technologies category to Riccardo Vianello, Vice President and CEO Forel SPA"I receive this award with great pride, above all because it recognizes the efforts of our group and at the same time enhances Italian technology in the world. In fact, let's remember that the technology of the glass sector is largely in Italy and therefore we must take advantage of VITRUM to exhibit it. Forel at VITRUM he exhibited all 8 patents developed during the year, including the application of the thermoplastic profile which has found particular success among the international public. At the conclusion of the Best Tech Awards ceremony, a symbolic recognition was also given to the VITRUM visitors who animated and made the initiative possible with their contribution, selecting four testimonials on their behalf among those who voted for the awarded companies: they will have the opportunity to experience a Premium Glass Experience at VITRUM 2025.
In the afternoon, during the special extraordinary meeting, the GIMAV members discussed and explored the possible scenarios to guarantee the best future for VITRUM.
